UP

I went and saw "UP" today and loved it! I don't think Pixar can do anything wrong. One of the funniest moments was during the credits when I heard a guy in the theater say, "Oh, are you supposed to wear the glasses?!" I giggled at the thought of him struggling through the whole movie and wondering why it was blurry. And since when did movies get so expensive? I paid eleven dollars to see this movie. I guess it was to pay for the 3D glasses but seriously, I only do the dollar theater. Except for Harry Potter. But go see "UP", very good.

Unrelated: I can't wait for Fall Semester so that all of my ward moves out and I get new peeps. I know this sounds uncharitable but there is so much drama going on with all the people that have been in the ward forever. And if you know me, I don't do drama.

This line from Willy Wonka explains how I feel about transportation today. I only have a bike. So I get to ride it everywhere. School, work, the grocery store, etc. Now while I am thankful that I have a bicycle and don't have to pay for gas and insurance, get exercise and don't pollute the environment, it is getting really old. This is my second summer getting to work on my bike. Most of the time it's ok, but then there are the days where I'm too tired to ride my bike home or I can't buy all the groceries I need at one time because I can't get them home. Or like today, where it rained and made my bike wet which doesn't help it's performance. Now the chain is doing funny things, the brakes squeal when I press them and the seat keeps slipping down which makes it hard to pedal. I shouldn't complain. At least I have a bike and I don't have to walk. But I just need it to not rain anymore. At least until July when I get to borrow my sister's car for 2 1/2 weeks.

My brother, Stephen, just got accepted into the Univeristy of Rochester Medical College! It's the one he wanted to go to and a very good school. The school is located in upstate New York. It will be freezing cold there but I guess the campus has underground tunnels that the students can use in the winter. That one-ups BYU. I am sad that he will be all the way across the country. I am so proud and excited for my brother and his upcoming adventures.

Update-To sweeten the deal the school offered him a $20,000 scholarship! Um...Thank you?! And he'll be an hour away from my aunt and uncle's lake house. How I would love to go live at that house for a week or two. Go Yellowjackets!

OK, so probably only I think this is funny, but that's honestly what came to my mind.

A little paranoid

My apartment got new couches this week and it somehow became my job to get rid of all the old stuff. I decided to put it on craigslist because my sister did that and got rid of her couch the next day. I've gotten about 20 emails from random people with varying degrees of gramatical correctness. I have to say I am a little paranoid about emailing complete strangers my address and phone number. They could be the next craigslist killer and I am at home waiting to let them in so they can take the silly couches away. I try not to give out too much personal info on the internet so I'll be happy when this is all over. Maybe Marissa will let me borrow her pepper spray...

Yay Me!

I found out today that I will have some sort of paid internship this summer. (Big sigh of relief right here). It will start the beginning of June. It's through the Summer Stimulus Internship Program paid for by the stimulus bill by President Obama. I'm not sure yet what I'll be doing but my ideal would be working at the Utah County Health Department. It would then also count as the internship I have to complete for my program and I would be getting PAID. Unheard of in public health. I am stoked to be able to be productive this summer. Thank you President Obama!
